Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115084-020). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. It may be surprising to see a fanfare piece commissioned by a Japanese ensemble, since fanfare orchestras are typically found in Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg, and also France and Switzerland. Senzoku Gakuen is one of the largest and mostprestigious music universities in Japan, and home to a wide variety of ensembles and orchestras. Since 2006 they have had a fanfare orchestra, which was started by Sotaru Fukaishi, a euphonium teacher who felt further performance opportunity wasneeded for saxhorn instruments. Fukaishi had loved the sound of fanfare orchestras ever since visiting the World Music Contest in Kerkrade (Holland) several years earlier. Jan Van der Roost was involved with this new initiative from the beginning, and they were also joined by Manu Mellaerts for certain projects. The Dean of the music department, Professor Kazuo Tomioka, fully supports the ensemble and commissioned Ostinati. The première took place on June 11th at Maeda Hall inMizonokuchi (Kawasaki) where Senzoku Gakuen is based. The piece opens with an impressive timpani solo, followed by brass and saxophone. The rhythmical pulse remains constant and the music is fiery and assertive in character. A pentatonic melodygradually emerges and the music loses its vehemency and softens. The initial percussion ostinati subsequently recurs and the first section of the piece concludes in a similar mood to the opening. The second movement is sweet and melodic, opening witha long passage for the saxophone family in a minor key. The same theme then appears in the major and is developed upon; the music builds to a majestic orchestral forte, reminiscent of a pipe organ in its sonority. The theme returns in the originalminor key with a change in instrumentation leading the movement to a quiet and peaceful end on a soft E minor chord. The finale starts with percussion: a four-bar pattern is repeated several times over which the movement’s melodic themes areintroduced. These melodic elements are varied and used in different versions and the ostinato idea, which characterizes the entire piece, is highlighted. The theme travels through the orchestra, appearing on various instruments and in variousregisters. It captures the listener’s attention and displays the full range of sound and colour within the fanfare orchestra.

$478.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band and Vocal Solo - Grade 5 SKU: BT.DHP-1094768-010 Poems by Graeme King. Composed by Marco Putz. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2010. De Haske Publications #DHP 1094768-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1094768-010). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. The hymn Nun ruhen alle Wälder (Now All Forests Rest), arranged by J.S. Bach (No. 6, So sei nun, Seele, deine, from Cantata BWV 13), is a guiding light throughout this four-movement composition. Pütz wrote this work as a musical outcry against the wilful, profit-driven destruction of our environment. When Bach used the word “ruhen†(to rest) over 350 years ago, it probably had a different nuance from the meaning it has today. At the beginning of the 21st century - the so-called age of progress - “nun ruhen alle Wälder†should mean “now all forests die†. Massive industrialization and globalization, coupled with pure greed, corruption, political scandals, an ever-wideninggap between the rich and poor, and other such senseless human actions, are pushing our blue planet closer and closer to the point of no return. This work is not intended to be a ranting accusation. It should remind us of the beauty and harmony that can exist all around us in nature, if we take care of it. Pütz hopes that this will, one day, help put a greater emphasis on humanity’s survival, and coexistence with nature rather than the exploitation described earlier. All four texts were created by Australian poet Graeme King, whose works were discovered by Pütz, by chance on the internet. Pütz was especially captivated by King’s clarity, and intrigued by the possibilities of adapting and melding the strong rhythmical structure of King’s writing with his own musical language. The four movements are as follows: 1. Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow The world première of Four Earth Songs took place on 7 July 2009 at the 14th WASBE-Conference in Cincinnati (USA). This work is dedicated in friendship to Jouke Hoekstra, conductor, and the Frysk Fanfare Orkest (the Frisian Fanfare-Orchestra).
Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3.Stand up! 4.
Tears of Nature 2. Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! 4. Tomorrow Die offizielle Uraufführung von Four Earth Songs fand am 7. Juli 2009 statt, anlässlich der 14. WASBE-Konferenz in Cincinnati (USA).
Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! Grrrevolution 3. Stand up! (Levez-vous !) 4. Tomorrow (Demain) Four Earth Songs est dédié amicalement l’Orchestre de Fanfare de Frise (Frysk Fanfare Orkest) et son chef, Jouke Hoekstra. Frontier Vision is a concert or contest piece based on three elements: the commemoration of the 500th anniversary of Reformation Day, the Martin Luther melody, A Mighty Fortress Is Our God (Ein Feste Burg ist unser Gott) on whichthis composition is based, and thirdly the spreading of the evangelical movement in the late 19th century, of which the analogous storyline forms the structural basis of this work. Multi-cultural ethnic influences, along with the driving rhythms thatreflect the perseverance and hard work of those mission-minded pioneers, are both important components that make Frontier Vision an outstanding choice for your concert or contest. Frontier Vision was the test piece for the seconddivision in the Dutch National Brass Band Championships 2017.
Viola and Piano - intermediate SKU: BT.SLB-02032701 Pour alto & piano. Composed by Johann Christian Bach. Classical. Book and Part(s). Composed 2021. 40 pages. Editions Salabert #SLB 02032701. Published by Editions Salabert (BT.SLB-02032701). 230 X 305 inches. French-English-Italian. Henri Casadesus was passionate about early instruments, as we know from a number of photographs showing him with viola d’amore, the subject of a manual he wrote entitled Tecnique de la viole d’amour. The Concerto en Ut mineur was first published in 1947 by Mica Salabert. The first edition gives the so-called “original†part for solo violocello together with the score which, according to the preface, has been adapted for viola or cello or violin by Casadesus. However, stylistic analysis of the piece, together with some musicological research carried out after the appearance of the first edition reveals that the “original†version for violoncello, on which the adaptation was supposed to be based, cannot be attributed to Johann Christian Bach, but is rather a work imitating his style written two centuries later. In spite of this, Concerto en Ut mineur encountered considerable success and continues to be studied and performed by both violinists and violoncellists today.
$20.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 3 SKU: BT.DHP-1115059-140 Tone Poem for Band. Composed by Jacob De Haan. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2011. 36 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1115059-140. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1115059-140). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. This moving symphonic poem is about the French region of Lorraine. Since the time of the Roman Empire, Lorraine has been ruled by either Germany or France with wars redrawing national boundaries many times over the years. While its history has been bloody, folk music from the region breaks up the tension in the piece and offers many uplifting moments. An optimistic conclusion features a mixture of music from the three countries Lorraine sits between: Luxembourg, Germany and France.
$45.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 5 SKU: BT.DHP-1196180-120 Legend - Theme - Chorale. Composed by Stijn Roels. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2019. 44 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1196180-120. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196180-120). English-German-French-Dutch. The title Ex Tribus Fontis (Latin for ‘from three sources’) refers to the three sources of inspiration that were used for this composition. The legend of Saint Donatus, patron saint of the commissioning band describes how he and his soldiers prayed to God during a losing battle, the result of which being a thunderstorm which annihilated the Teutonic opponents. This three movement piece is extremely impressive and very much suitable for both concerts and contests.
Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1104914-140 Symphonic Poem for Wind Orchestra. Composed by Satoshi Yagisawa. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Score Only. Composed 2010. 177 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1104914-140. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1104914-140). 9x12 inches. English-German-French-Dutch. This piece was commissioned by Matsudo Citizen Wind Orchestra for their 30th anniversary concert and premiêred by the band conducted by Kenichiro Hasunuma in July 2009. This piece is typical of Satoshi Yagisawa in that it depicts a magnificent spectacle. This one is set in ancient Egypt and is based on the story depicted in the famous film “The Ten Commandments†(1956, directed by Cecil B. DeMille). One day Moses, who was raised by the rich royal family, found out that he was originally Hebrew. The Hebrews had been forced to live as slaves. Ramses, the prince directly descended from the Pharaoh, envied Moses’ strength and popularity. After internal argument Moses decides todeliver the Hebrew from the Pharaoh’s tyranny and escape from Egypt with them. The music starts with brilliant royal fanfare and depicts magnificent architecture, the Hebrew people forced into hard labour, and the slaves escaping from the Pharaoh’s tyranny. At the climax they are at crisis point, trapped by the sea. Moses waves his staff and the miracle happens; the sea parts and Hebrew people successfully escape. Following on from Perseus - A Hero’s Quest in the Heavens, this work Moses and Ramses is another piece written in the dramatic style favoured by Satoshi Yagisawa.
$38.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1195884-010 Variations on a theme by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Composed by Jan de Haan. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2019. De Haske Publications #DHP 1195884-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1195884-010). English-German-French-Dutch. Tribute to a Maestro is an homage to Jean-Philippe Rameau (1683 1764), one of the most important French Baroque composers. Rameau was a hugely significant composer, organist, harpsichordist and music teacher: he also published several authoritative books on music theory. Jan de Haan based this tribute on a theme from ‘Les Sauvages’ (The Savages), the fourth act of Rameau’s ballet-opera, Les Indes Galantes (The Amorous Indies). The work begins with two variations, whereupon the striking theme can be heard. After a short intermezzo, four more variations follow, of which the last one is composed in Baroque style.

Concert Band/Harmonie - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1195884-140 Variations on a theme by Jean-Philippe Rameau. Composed by Jan de Haan. Concert and Contest Collection CBHA. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2019. 40 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1195884-140. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1195884-140).

Brass Band - Grade 6 SKU: BT.DHP-1196183-130 Composed by Paul Raphael. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Concert Piece. Score Only. Composed 2019. 73 pages. De Haske Publications #DHP 1196183-130. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196183-130). English-German-French-Dutch. Composed by Paul Raphael, Explorers on the Moon, the sequel to his 2017 work Destination Moon, was composed in 2019 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Moon Landings. It is inspired by the Belgian author Hergé and his most famous creation, Tintin. The music uses Hergé’s story from 1950 almost twenty years prior to the first ever moon landing - following Tintin and his fellow adventurers as they become the first humans on the Moon. This fantastic piece is split into three parts, titled ‘Space’, ‘Nightmare Land’ and ‘The Journey Home’ and is one of the most spectacular contest pieces in recent years.
Explorers on the Moon, komponiert von Paul Raphael, entstand 2019 anlässlich des 50.
$47.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

Fanfare Band - Grade 4 SKU: BT.DHP-1196115-020 Composed by Jacob De Haan. Concert and Contest Collection Brass Band en Fanfare. Concert Piece. Set (Score & Parts). Composed 2019. De Haske Publications #DHP 1196115-020. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196115-020). English-German-French-Dutch. Hora Est! (Latin for ‘it is time!’) was composed to bid adieu to Sjoerd de Boer’s following forty years as conductor of the Chr. Fanfare Band, based in the town of Wjelsryp in the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, this small phrase, hora est, is traditionally said upon awarding a university doctorate at graduation ceremonies. The composition was written with Sjoerd de Boer firmly in mind, mirroring various aspects of his life. The main motif of the work consists of three notes, forming his initials: S (Eb) D B. At a certain point, the music is interrupted by a thunderstorm and heavy rain (forever a bad omen: the debut for this work took place a day after such a deluge, but fortunately their open-air concert was met with clear blue skies.) The fanfare then plays an Italianesque march, with the motif of de Boer’s initials interwoven throughout. The work re-uses this motif twice towards the end of the piece as one might expect, by the saxophones to create a festive, driven and virtuosic atmosphere. Finally, the work comes to an end with the initials motif played across the ensemble in complete unison. The powerful closing chords symbolise a fond farewell to de Boer: a driven and extremely capable conductor whose musical mark on Concordia will be felt for years to come. Hora Est! is suitable as a contest piece and would be a definite highlight for any upcoming concert.
$181.95 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks

De Haske Publications #DHP 1196070-010. Published by De Haske Publications (BT.DHP-1196070-010). English-German-French-Dutch. This piece was written to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the Takayama Wind Orchestra, who also commissioned it. The historic city of Takayama draws numerous visitors from home and abroad, not just to see its well-preserved old houses and buildings but also because every year several historic processions take place, with beautiful floats. When these ride through the city, age-old melodies are heard played on wooden flutes, accompanied by muted drums. This image is evoked at the beginning of the work, followed by an archaic sounding melody in a typically Japanese pentatonic sequence, that develops throughout. In this challenging piece Eastern and Western influences alternate, creating a sensational and overwhelming musical effect!

UPC: 888680906689. 9.0x12.0x0.113 inches. Sonata for Violin and Cello composed by Luigi Boccherini was transcribed and annotated by Paul Bazelaire, a professor at the National Conservatoire. Ideal for a recital or for a contest, this sonata in four parts is quite challenging for both instruments and would require advanced skills. The cello score is written over the C and the F key and each of the four parts includes numerous repetitions and fast sections. These four parts are 1. Allegretto Spiritoso, 2. Vivace, 3. Grave and 4. Allegro Assai. This really nice sonata will be a delight to play and to listen to. Luigi Boccherini (1743-1806) composed numerous pieces for various instruments, including cello duets, chamber music, cantatas, ballets, orchestral music, masses, and a large amount of music for strings. $23.75 - See more - Buy onlinePre-shipment lead time: 2 to 3 weeks
