Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019458 Composed by Simon Watkins. Concert,Contemporary. Octavo. 12 pages. Simon Watkins #5732609. Published by Simon Watkins (A0.1019458). A choral piece for SATB choir with piano accompaniment, this setting of John Clare's poem from 'The Rural Muse' captures the drama of being caught in the rain on a country walk. The music is intentionally poignant, reflecting Clare's feeling of sadness at the loss of character and beauty in the progressive changes wrought by industrialisation to the 19th century landscape; a sense that seems all the more keenly felt now in the face of climate change, industrial agriculture and destructive infrastructure development.Length approx. 4 1/2 minutes, medium difficulty in the vocal parts; more advanced in the accompaniment.Suitable for a general choral performance, chamber choir or school event.Contact simon@airtoncreativeservices.co.uk for more information and part-by-part rehearsal audio files.

Rhythm Section SATB Chorus divisi,Voice - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1453743 Composed by Chris Jasper, Ernie Isley, Marvin Isley, O'Kelly Isley, Ronald Isley, and Rudolph Isley. Arranged by Kerry Marsh. Funk,Jazz,Pop,Soul. Vocal Jazz Ensemble. 52 pages. Kerry Marsh #1032960. Published by Kerry Marsh (A0.1453743). This arrangement, sold at SheetMusicPlus.com and SheetMusicDirect.com at a much lower price than the standard flat-fee range ($60 to $75), does NOT come with a demo recording or any rehearsal audio aids. Visit KerryMarsh.com and purchase the All Tracks Pack with SkyTracks (No Sheet Music) package and receive access to: 1. Arrangement Demo, 2. SkyTracks Mixer access, 3. Vocal Part Tracks, 4. Minus-One Tracks, 5. Rhythm Track, 6. Recording Stems (for those who wish to use their own Digital Audio Workstation)Them Changes is a standout track by Thundercat, featuring a funky, bass-driven groove that highlights Thundercat's virtuosic bass playing and unique blend of jazz, funk, and R&B influences. The lyrics explore themes of heartbreak and emotional turmoil, delivered with Thundercat's signature falsetto vocals.Kerry Marsh's vocal jazz arrangement begins with an a cappella rendition of the song's bridge, serving as a teaser before launching into the now-iconic drums and bass groove. A hallmark of neo-soul, the dissonance between the chord changes and the melody can present challenges for vocal harmonies. This arrangement skillfully navigates these tricky spots, employing octaves and unison writing to minimize clashes, and then breaking out into lush, dense harmonies where they are most effective. The chart concludes with a space for vocal or instrumental improv, accompanied by vocal backgrounds, ending the piece in a sudden and unconventional manner. This modern-day classic will be a hit with your vocal jazz ensemble, offering something for singers, instrumentalists, and the audience alike to enjoy.Perfect for advanced ensembles looking to explore contemporary jazz-funk, this arrangement captures the essence of Thundercat's innovative style while providing a fresh and exciting challenge. Check out the Scoreflipper preview to see how this arrangement can elevate your group's performance and captivate your audience.

Conant-Haque. 21st Century,Chamber,Contemporary. 9 pages. E. S. Conant-Haque #975919. Published by E. S. Conant-Haque (A0.1392390). Romance for Tuba & Strings is a short exposition of a simple theme for tuba accompanied by string trio. The beauty of this theme is in its seventh and ninth intervals, which the tubist and violinist are encouraged to emphasize. The body of the work is expressive and lyrical, and should be approached with musical sensitivity. The piece concludes with a sudden change of thematic material, becoming resolute and declarative. The players must make sure that this sudden development is conveyed decisively, and that the ending is powerful and majestic. This piece is not technically demanding, but the tuba and violin parts cover wide ranges on their respective instruments, and as such advanced level is recommended.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.767557 Composed by Mike Lyons. Concert,Contemporary. 39 pages. Lyons Music Services #5968167. Published by Lyons Music Services (A0.767557). This is a brand new, original piece for wind quintet.I decided that I wanted to create a musical description of summer under lockdown, spending time in the garden (although there are no bird sounds) in the NorthWest of England. The weather here is usually very changeable (it's why we talk about it so much) so, of course, I included a thunderstorm in the middle! The piece opens with a gentle walk in the garden, (bassoon) the beautiful flowers swaying in the slight breeze (clarinet and horn). The oboe melody that enters in bar two expresses my thoughts of delight at the beautiful scene. The melody is passed around the ensemble, there's a duet with the flute and then the bassoon takes charge, with the horn taking over the walking bassline. At letter C there's an abrupt change of scene as I notice the bees busily flitting from flower to flower, pollenating and collecting nectar. The instruments play flutter-tongue to imitate an annoyed buzz every now and again as bees from different hives chance upon the same flower, but all remains peacefully business-like.At Letter D, we have a slight slowing of tempo as some butterflies flit from place to place, aimlessly taking off and landing fluttering for a short while in the sunshine. This section is as carefree as possible and should just amble along. The tempo can be pulled about quite a bit.At Letter F, there's a huge, sudden thunderstorm, jagged lightning and rolling thunder as a downpour drenches the garden. Just as suddenly as it started, the storm ends and rain reduces to a thin drizzle. Out comes the sun and we continue through the garden into the distance.

Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1412964 By Damien Gauci. By Damien Gauci. Contemporary,New Age. Full Performance. Duration 244. Damien Gauci #994971. Published by Damien Gauci (A0.1412964). The starting point for this piece was just reflect the breathing in and out of the morning air. The piece begins with a slow, flowing left hand which prepares the entrance of the melody in the right hand. The melody floats above the right and takes it’s time as if it’s breathing or flowing with the air. there are quite a few different motifs/melodies in this piece which could be representative of the changing nature of the wind and air throughout the day. There are moments when it is more calm and still, moments when it is flowing freely and rapidly around, and there are moments when it is more active and creates a whirlwind. While the sudden change between different themes is ok, If I wrote this piece again, I would try to create a better connection between them.

Published by Will Savage (A0.1350163). 'Turn of the Tide' - to reverse the general course of events.Turn of the Tide is about an on-going war in a land far away. One of the last remaining tribes in the human race is losing a great battle and they are slowly, but surely becoming extinct. In a sudden change of events, the opposing tribe dies of an unknown disease, and the music unusually lifts at this point, from C Minor to G major. The Tribe then discovers the damage that the world has been left in. We descend back to C Minor from a big climax as the once cheerful tribe all breathe their last breath. There is no more population on planet earth.Instrumentation:Solo Flugelhorn (Instrument in Bb)+ Piano Accompanimentsavagesmusic.com/turn-of-the-tide

GREEK FOLK SONG: KARAGOUNA arranged for SATB choir and pianoTraditional folk song in the characteristic 7/8 rhythm as well as the sudden change in tempo, equally characteristic, of Greek folk music. The title refers to a woman from the valley of Thessaly. Duration: 2’20’’ Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius file. For more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.netAs a Greek living in Norway for most of my adult life, and in my many years’ work as a conductor of a Norwegian choir specializing in Greek music (!), I have experienced the need to enrich the choir’s repertoire with both folk song- as well as other -arrangements of Greek music: This gave me the opportunity to share with our audiences some of the centuries-long musical heritage, as well as helping me make known to them some of the History behind the music of a country of such international historical influence in the past, and such a tourist magnet in our times.

Some students find the transition from Grade 1 sight reading, where only one hand is played at a time, to Grade 2 sight reading, where the hands often play together, to be a sudden change. This book is born out of individual pages that I startedwriting for one of my students to introduce her very gradually to sight reading with both hands together as none of the books I could find had enough easy examples. Now a complete digital book of 185 sight reading examples that increase in difficulty very gradually, it is perfect for the students who need more time to build their confidence and ability. All of the examples are in five finger positions, the hands never having to move within the piece. I have followed the ABRSM Grade 2 sight parameters for sharps and flats, time signatures and note range. The rhythms have been kept simple. This book is the ideal precursor to working on Grade 2 standard pieces.Features:- 185 sight reading examples. That’s more than enough to do three a week for an entire year!- Simple pieces with the emphasis on a very slow, gradual increase in difficulty- Examples with right hand and left hand melodies- 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 time- Up to two sharps or two flats.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quartet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1221137 Composed by Sir John Goss. Arranged by Hugh Levey. 19th Century,Christian,Easter,Religious. 12 pages. Woodwindly.com #817489. Published by woodwindly.com (A0.1221137). Wind Quartet - Oboe (or Flute), Clarinet, Horn, BassoonO Saviour of the World is a beautiful 19th century hymn, written for SATB choir with optional organ accompaniment, by Sir John Goss (1800-1880). Suitable for religious festivals such as Lent, Easter and Christmas, but also for secular events where some solemn beautiful music is required. Goss was organist at St Paul's Cathedral in London and a Professor of Harmony at the Royal Academy of Music where Sir Arthur Sullivan was among his pupils. Although this is an instrumental transcription, we can still hear the emotion through the musical techniques employed by the composer; such as sequences of overlapping lines, unexpected harmonies, the contrast between smooth legato passages and declamation, and the sudden change to unison for emphasis, all with carefully thought out dynamics.

Jazz Combo - Digital Download SKU: A0.979641 Composed by Roger Aldridge. Celtic,Jazz. Score and parts. 1 pages. Roger Aldridge #432873. Published by Roger Aldridge (A0.979641). October Joy is a slip jig (Celtic dance music in 9/8) with touches of contemporary jazz. I consider it to be one of my best fusions of roots music and jazz. Besides being a blend of Celtic and jazz styles, this piece has a number of unusual features. Structurally, I think of it as AAAB. The first A is 5 bars, the second A is 3 bars (transposed up a half-step to Ab), and the third A is 3 bars (transposed back to G). The B part, 9 bars in length, has a sudden change to E for the first 3 bars. Then, the chord progression becomes harmonically vague -- including a shift from major 7th chords to V9 sus4 chords. Shifting time is used throughout the piece with single or multiple bars of 6/8 interjected into the 9/8. While it has some quirky touches, this is music with a driving and joyful spirit. Duration 16 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q6221. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q6221). Though the work bearing this title is a portrait of childhood, it is a childhood quite different from the purely gameplaying and dreamlike childhood that is customarily represented. The childhood described here is carrying the seed, in all its purity, of all positive and negative qualities to be found the fully-grown men: a childhood both angelic and diabolical, and indeed very close to Henry James' The Turn of the Screw which was the direct inspiration for this monodrama. Its growth follows the innumerable sudden changes, turns and contrasts of the unsophisticated spirit. There is hardly any development at all, as each idea gives birth to the next or rejects the previons one, being object to every impulse, every tempest, every flux, every fear and delight. After a dreamlike introduction, in which two simple melodies stand out, comes a sudden awakening, Allegro, stamped all over with lavish and forever regenerating dynamism. A sudden halt leads a kind of outburst from the most simple folklore is singing, in regular, repeated notes. Again the question mark leads us to another melody, Tranquillo, of a sweet tempo, but brilliantly decorated with counter-point, its cursive traits leading this time to a kind of roguish march (Vigoroso). Yet soon there emerges a melancholic chant, Largo, in the Cromorne's timbre, and then, in the highest register of the Trumpet there reappears like a metamorphosed memory, the theme of the second movement. Passing other episodes, we come to Tempo giusto, insistent and glorious, interrupted by other passionate figures, cut off by unsettling silent moments and taken up again in always accelerating volleys.

Instrumental Duet Flute,Instrumental Duet,Piano - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1021619 Composed by Tyler J. Holt. Concert,Contemporary,Standards. Score and parts. 43 pages. TJHoltMusic #6134009. Published by TJHoltMusic (A0.1021619). Sonata for Flute and Piano, Op. 12 was written for and is dedicated to my friend, Natalie Smith. This sonata conveys different moods using various styles in each of the movements, all of which take some liberty and, at times, are vague with form. The first movement, inspired by Claude Debussy, uses a quasi mirror form, with the two motives connecting with a sudden yet seamless tempo change, which is supported by the driving rhythm in the piano, and a development in the middle of the movement. The second movement is a funeral march and is based on the chord progression built around the sustained B natural in the flute, which conveys a dreamlike atmosphere. As the progression transforms, there is an increasing sense of dread that unfolds until this feeling becomes primal before collapsing in on itself at the climax of the movement. From there, the progression returns more actively with, although not as strong as before, a sense of dread still present for the remainder of the movement. The movement is in ternary form (ABA), with a development in the first A section. The third movement is a more clearly defined rondo form and is based on themes that undergo subtle changes each time they return. Other themes include a recurring call and response between the treble and bass lines in the piano, which the flute participates in this exchange when it is presented again later, a reference to the second movement's progression, and a modal theme that floats in terms of harmonic and melodic structure. When the initial theme returns for the final time, a coda restates previous ideas as the finale gradually increases its tempo and concludes the piece. This movement is the most technically challenging, especially considering that I asked Natalie how fast she can double tongue. In general, there are a fair amount of high passages and big leaps. This was written with Natalie's skill set in mind.I. Moderato con gioiaII. Lamento sostenutoIII. ScherzoComposed by Tyler J. HoltPublished by TJHoltMusicCopyright © Tyler J. Holt, Composer.

This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself. Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it. It seems like it’s been around for eternity. In any case, it was only 150 years or so ago that the Wedding March came about. It was performed in Potsdam for the first time in 1842, as a piece of Mendelssohn’s music for the Shakespeare play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. It was first used for a wedding in 1858 Mendelssohn Background Felix Mendelssohn (1809 –1847) was, by all means, a German mastermind composer, musician and orchestra conductor of the Romantic period. Consequently, Mendelssohn composed in the usual forms of the time - symphonies, concertos, oratorios, piano music, and chamber music. To summarize, his most famous works include his music for A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Italian Symphony, the Scottish Symphony, The Hebrides Overture, his later Concerto for Violin & Orchestra, and his Octet for Strings. His most well-known piano pieces, by and large, are the Songs Without Words. Artistic Standing Musical tastes change from time to time. Moreover, just such a change occurred in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. This plus rampant antisemitism brought a corresponding amount of undue criticism. Fortunately, however, his artistic inventiveness has indeed been critically re-evaluated. As a result, Mendelssohn is once again among the most prevalent composers of the Romantic era. Early Family Life Mendelssohn was, in fact, born into a prominent Jewish family. His grandfather was, notably, the philosopher Moses Mendelssohn. Felix was, in fact, raised without religion. At the age of seven, he was all of a sudden baptized as a Reformed Christian. He was, moreover, a child musical prodigy. Nevertheless, his parents did not attempt to exploit his talent. Early Adulthood Mendelssohn was, in general, successful in Germany. He conducted, in particular, a revival of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach, specifically with his presentation of the St Matthew Passion in 1829. Felix was truly in demand throughout Europe as a composer, conductor, and soloist. For example, he visited Britain ten times. There, he premiered, namely, many of his major works. His taste in music was. To be sure, inventive and well-crafted yet markedly conservative. This conservatism separated him by all means from more audacious musical colleagues like Liszt, Wagner, and Berlioz. Mendelssohn founded the Leipzig Conservatoire which, to clarify, became a defender of this conservative viewpoint. Mature Adulthood Schumann notably wrote that Mendelssohn was the Mozart of the nineteenth century, the most brilliant musician, the one who most clearly sees through the contradictions of the age and for the first time reconciles them. This observation points to a couple of features in particular that illustrate Mendelssohn's works and his artistic procedure. Musical Features In the first place, his musical style was fixed in his methodical mastery of the style of preceding masters. This being said, he certainly recognized and even developed early romanticism from the music of Beethoven and Weber. Secondly, it indicates that Mendelssohn sought to strengthen his inherited musical legacy rather than to exchange it with new forms and styles or replace it with exotic orchestration. Consequently, he diverged his contemporaries in the romantic period, such as Wagner, Berlioz.

Consequently, he diverged his contemporaries in the romantic period, such as Wagner, Berlioz, and Liszt. Mendelssohn revered Liszt's virtuosity at the keyboard but found his music rather insubstantial.Register for free lifetime revisions and updates at www.jamesguthrie.com &n.

This is the famous wedding march from Op. 61 composed in 1842 and commonly performed as a recessional march at the end of a wedding. The piece was originally composed for orchestra then arranged for organ and performed by Mendelssohn himself.Mendelssohn: Wedding March Mendelssohn’s Wedding March is so popular that it’s difficult to imagine a wedding without it.
