Jacques-François Gallay (born in Perpignan on 8 December 1795 , died in Paris on 10 October 1864 ) is a horn player , music teacher and composer French .
After studying at Perpignan, in 1820 he entered the Paris Conservatoire in the class of Louis François Dauprat the same year and won the 1 st prize horn. In 1825 he joined the orchestra of the Théâtre Italien , having belonged to one of the Odeon and the Chapel Royal. In 1842 he succeeded his master Dauprat Conservatory.
