Lament by Mack Wilberg for String Orchestra with optional Organ.This moving piece for String Orchestra is full of pathos and emotion. Stylistically evocative of Samuel Barber's Adagio for Strings and the distinctive musical language of Arvo Pärt Lament is based around a two-bar arching ostinato artfully developing musical fragments and enriching the texture to reach a powerful central climax. This is a welcome addition to the String Orchestra repertory.This piece was recorded on the 2019 Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra CD Tree of Life under the title 'And Wept Bitterly (Lament on an Ostinato for StringOrchestra)'.

Fantasia In F Minor for Strings (1799) after the Organ Piece for Mechanical Organ K.608.Despite their high quality Mozart?s works for unusual instruments or instrumental combinations often receive scant attention. One of these remarkable compositions is a piece for mechanical Organ K. 608 that he wrote for ? MĂĽller?s Art Gallery ? in March 1791. By 1799 it had already appeared in print in Vienna as a fantasy for Piano four-hands.But there were also other transcriptions including one for two Flutes and another for String Quartet.Several sources and later editions attest to the popularity of this contemporary stringarrangement of 1799. Several amber objects were found within the houses linking Pompeii with Lithuania. The lastmovement returns to the House of the Ancient Hunt then heads northwards along the Gintaro Kelias. The jubilant closing music refers to an earlier work (Geda's Weavings) based on Lithuanian folksongs.

This book which includes 308 tune transcriptions is organized around individual Fiddlers who typically combine Appalachian-style Fiddling with rags pop standards Midwest-style Fiddling and sometimes a touch of Western swingto create a style often identifiable as Ozarks.Thirty Ozarks fiddlers and their lives are highlighted with biographical sketches photographs and tune histories. Another 50 great Ozarks fiddlers are presented in a similarmanner but with less detail.The book and accompanying audio (with 37 tunes many recorded in the field) emphasize the older fiddling traditions connected to the square dances and community events more than those connectedto bluegrass music and modern contest Fiddling. Victoria Maesta-Muffat pupil of Lully and Corelli composed his concerto ?Victoria Maesta? (?Sad Victory?) in 1689 as organist and chamber musician in the court of the archbishop of Salzburg. The title refers to the taking of Belgrad during which the archbishop?s brother was killed in 1688; therefore the piece begins with a solemn funeral march in C minor in elaborate and artistic contrapuntal technique in the sense of Corelli?s adagio type.
