Sarabande Et Finale is a nice piece by Raymond Gallois Montbrun for Bb or C Trumpet and Piano accompaniment. Quite difficult this piece is great for recitals or concert. Starting with the Piano for just six measures before the Trumpet Solo the sarabande has a slow tempo. The finale is faster Allegro and features a period with solo Piano before evolving into Vivo. It features the score and parts for Bb or C Trumpet. Raymond Gallois Montbrun (1918-1994) was a French violinist and composer who won the Premier Grand Prix de Rome and the Grand Prix de Paris. He later became the director of the ParisConservatoire. He composed many symphonic pieces an opera a quartet and many pieces for Solo Piano Violin and Piano and other instruments.

To this day Eugène Bozza (1905-1991) remains one of the most prolific composers for wind instruments despite being a violinist himself. His Caprice No. 2 for Trumpet with Piano accompaniment is no exception to the composer's success. During his studies at the Paris Conservatoire Bozza won prizes for Violin conducting and composition as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. He then conducted the orchestra of the Opéra-Comique and became Head of the Conservatoire in Valenciennes whilst remaining a prominent composer. Composed in 1978 Bozza's Caprice No. 2 addresses advanced aspects of theTrumpet including complex rhythms exploited tonalilty and articulation. As music educationalist Paul Griffiths has written of Bozza's compositions 'his works reveal melodic fluency elegance of structure and a consistenly sensitive concern of instrumental capabilities.'

The 16 pieces included have been specially commissioned from some of today’s leading composers and reflect current compositional trends. They range in difficulty from Grades 1 to 8 so there’s something here for players of all ages and abilities.Spectrum For Trumpet comes with a recording of the 16 pieces performed by trumpeter John Wallace compiler of this volume and pianist Simon Wright.The highly successful Spectrum series was established by ABRSM and Thalia Myers in 1996 and now includes volumes for Piano Piano duet Violin Cello Clarinet and String Quartet. The aim of the series remains unchanged: to commission some of the finest composers to write pieces of modest length and difficulty while preserving the essential characteristics of their compositional style.

Bohuslav Martinu (1890-1959) was a prolific Czech composer writing many large scale works. The composer moved to Paris in 1923 where he began experimenting in a variety of composition styles. Sonatine for Trumpet and Piano was composed in 1957 and is adaptable to both the B flat and C Trumpet. Martinu himself was a violinist but he liked to experiment and the mid-1950s saw him move to Nice in France where he began writing Sonatas for wind and brass. Sonatine for Trumpet exemplifies the composer's influence of Stravinsky Debussy and jazz music. The piece is excitingly virtuosic in its use of flutter tonguing complex rhythms chromaticism and ensemble between the Trumpet and Piano. As a varied substantial work for the Trumpet repertoire Martinu's Sonatine is essential to the advanced trumpeter.

Take the lead is an integrated series for alto saxophone, clarinet, flute, piano, tenor saxophone, trumpet and violin. In each edition all of the songs are in the same key at concert pitch, allowing the different instruments to play together. Chord symbols are included at concert pitch for use by piano or guitar. 'Take the Lead Huge Hits' contains arrangements of recent chart hits encompassing a broad range of songs in a variety of styles from Justin Timberlake's 'Cry me A River' to Norah Jones' 'Come Away With Me'. Arrangement für Trompete und Klavier / for Trumpet and Piano-Max Reger`s well-known Romance in G major WoO II/10 was written as a supplement for the Neue Musik-Zeitung which was the recipient of works - particularly songs and piano pieces - by Reger in the years 1900 and 1901. Reger himself designatedhis Romance shortly after its publication as 'an occasional piece of the worst kind - for me!' The work was published in 1910 both in its original scoring for violin (and piano) as well as in its first arrangements for other solo instruments.

This edition is more user-friendly than the others currently available. The accompanying CD provides piano accompaniments as well as samples from recordings of the Neruda Haydn and Hummell concerti with kind permission of Hyperion Records and Crispian Steele-Perkins.J.G.B. Neruda (1711-1780) was typical of 18th century musicians travelling and studying in various parts of Eastern Europe and finally settling in Dresden (1750-1780) in the Electoral (chapel) orchestra where he was salaried as a violinist and occasional composer. This concerto was originally composed for a Corno da Caccia (hunting horn) presumed to be something of a hybrid between the natural hornand natural trumpet but has been borrowed by modern trumpet players and is now firmly fixed in the Classical trumpet repertoire.This edition is intended to be more user-friendly than the others currently available: there is a much easier (and dare I say more stylistic) piano accompaniment - any doubling of the solo part has been removed voicing simplified and my premise has been to imagine what it might have been before it was orchestrated rather than trying to cram in every last piece of orchestral detail. Suggested cuts have been indicated which give a short introduction to each movement perfect for auditions recitals or exams. However the bar numbers still tally with the longer original versions which are included should they be required.The dynamics and articulation which I have added incorporate the weight of opinion in current editions and recordings offering more guidance than 'scholarly' editions without being over-prescriptive. There is an appendix with suggested interpretation of trills. Listening to as many different recordings as possible is the best way to assimilate good trills.
