Beethovenâ??s Sonata In B Flat wascomposed ca. 1790 and is one of the very few pieces that he wrote for the Flute. The Rondo In E Minor was written in 1810 by Mozartâ??s youngest son Franz Xaver Wolfgang who often struggled to gain recognition on his ownmerits during his lifetime. Two Miniatures has been arranged by Louis Moyse (1912-2007) a noted French flautist pianist composer music editor and pedagogue. Raised in Paris he was educatedby his father Marcel also a famous flautist but spent most of his working life in North America.

In preparation for Carol Wincenc's landmark Naumburg Award Recital at New York's Lincoln Center she asked composer Daniel Paget to create a work drawn from the world of wonderful Romanian folk music for nai or panpipes.
