The Richard Wagner Complete Edition presents the composer's entire output for the first time in a reliable form. The conductor Michael Balling, in the early years of the 20th century, attempted to make Wagner's work more accessible for research and performance, but the edition only reached 10 volumes - some with grave shortcomings - and was discontinued after Balling's death in 1925. A further attempt at a complete edition by Otto Strobel was abandoned at the preliminary stages.This third attempt at a complete edition will be the first scholarly, critical edition, based on an evaluation of all the accessible source materials and the latest findings of serious Wagner research. As the edition is also intended for practical performance, the musical text has been kept free of philological insertions - these are listed in the appendices of each volume in the Critical Commentary. Numerous, partly unpublished works - some relatively unknown - and variant versions are published here for the first time. The edition presents authentic texts for Wagner specialists and researchers and critically based performing materials. Contrary to widely held opinions, even the well-known works of Wagner are not necessarily available in reliable editions. Cette oeuvre a fait l'objet d'une commande de Stéphane Mège pour un concert en hommage au poète Paul Verlaine dans la formation instrumentale suivante : soprano et onze instruments, Suite à un voyage en Italie et plus particulièrement dans les villes de Pompeii et Herculaneum, j'ai rapidement songé à écrire une oeuvre autour de cette terrible tragédie, une histoire quasi opératique, mais pourtant réelle, Aussi, l'utilisation de trois poèmes de Paul Verlaine de façon partielle (Promenade sentimentale, Effet de nuit et La mort) m'a permis à la fois de tenter de traduire les sentiments et images des poésies, mais aussi d'évoquer ce cataclysme - ainsi, il existe une sorte de correspondance entre ces deux histoires, Ce cycle ne peut donc, à mon sens, faire l'objet d'interprétations parcellaires, Il fut écrit entre 2011 et 01/01/12, - Promenade sentimentale (01'30'')- Interlude I (00'20'')- Effet de nuit (03'35'')- Interlude II (00'45'')- La mort (02'50'') / Soprano

With 'L'Etoile?, Chabrier composed a light-hearted opera which has increasingly enjoyed revivals in recent years.The plot is introduced by King Ouf I who offers his subjects an execution every year on his birthday. Unfortunately the problem now arises that no crime has recently been committed which might serve as a reason for an execution. Finally, he finds a would-be victim in the young Lazuli. However, according to predictions by the astrologer Siroco, Lazuli's fate is closely linked to the king's own life. The comic opera is further bolstered by a story of mistaken identities which involves a great deal of diplomacy, a love story and a large number of refined, yet catchy melodies.Chabrier was a master of the sensitive and complicated art of musical comedy, a field where he can be compared in equal measure to Offenbach, Rossini and Mozart. / Opéra
